BBC 7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 continues its broadcast premieres of
Big Finish Doctor Who audios http://www.doctorwho.co.uk starring
Paul McGann. Episode 1 of "Sword Of Orion" remains online until
Saturday. Episode 2 premieres on digital radio and online at 6:30PM
and 12:30AM BST Saturday, then will be up for another week. Episodes
are edited for time and to remove references to "Minuet In Hell",
which will not be broadcast.
Outpost Gallifrey http://www.gallifreyone.com caught a schedule change on BBC Three http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree . The Saturday night full length repeat of Doctor Who Confidential has been dropped, the Sunday night Doctor Who Confidential is now full length airing at 7PM, and 2 Doctor Who episodes will now air Sundays from 7:30 to 9PM. Episode 8 of Doctor Who Confidential will not air in its full length format. The Wednesday night cut down Doctor Who Confidential remains at 8:15PM. The Friday night showing of Doctor Who (1 episode) and cut down Confidential continue at 9PM. BBC Three has a habit of changing their schedules, so this could all change again. Especially since UKTV Gold is getting rights to repeat this series of Doctor Who on 23 October.
Canadian viewers. The CBC http://www.cbc.ca/television is repeating
the last episode of the current Doctor Who series (The Parting Of
The Ways) this Sunday the 11th. It appears that the Sunday slot on
the 18th will go to a repeat of a Richard Mercer comedy special. It
is unknown when/if further repeats will air on the CBC. The
Christmas Special and the 2nd series will air on the CBC down the
road - dates to be announced. The CBC's schedule remains tentative
due to the strike - the Doctor Who website
http://www.cbc.ca/doctorwho is back online, but the Planet Of The
Doctor documentary was still offline at publication time.
Canadian viewers II. Peter Hill, Program Manager at BBC Kids http://www.bbckids.ca , alerted Canadian Doctor Who fans and this column to a schedule change in their upcoming showing of the Colin Baker stories:
"First of all, thanks for spreading the word to fandom... we're really excited about bringing the Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy stories to BBC Kids this fall!
"Just wanted to pass on one small change in the play order for "The
Two Doctors" and The Mark of the Rani - with thanks to last
week's "This Week In Doctor Who" and my Sixth Doctor Handbook!
"We have swapped the play order of The Two Doctors and "The Mark
Of The Rani" to reflect the original UK transmission order, and not
the production order as originally scheduled.
"As a result, these stories will play on the following dates:
Oct 22 - The Mark Of The Rani
Oct 23 - The Two Doctors
All other broadcast information remains the same."
Canadian fans should be very appreciative of BBC Kids. It appears the current regime is working very hard for you.
American Who http://www.americanwho.net has their website up again.
Due to the recent passing of popular Doctor Who guest actor Michael
Sheard http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0790410 www.michaelsheard.com ,
the internet show's fall schedule has been updated as follows:
September - interview with Michael Sheard at Chicago TARDIS 2003
October - Richard Franklin (Mike Yates)
November - Carole Ann Ford (Susan)
December - Lalla Ward (Romana II)
The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media
http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who
international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
